Douglas J. Fiore, Ph.D. was named the 3rd President of Mercy College of Health Sciences by the Mercy College Board of Directors. Fiore began his new role as President of the College on June 10, 2018, after working with retiring President Barbara Quijano Decker in a period of onboarding to enable a seamless transition. Fiore’s selection followed an extensive, national search conducted by Greenwood/Asher & Associates, Inc., a national higher education executive search firm which provided support to the President’s Campus Search Committee. "After thoughtful succession planning and a national search process, the board is pleased to have selected Dr. Fiore to lead Mercy College moving forward," said Glenn Lyons, Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-chair of the search committee. "Dr. Fiore brings with him many years of higher education experience and joins us ready to accelerate Mercy College’s position as a national leader for excellence in the delivery and innovation of health sciences education.”

Nursing and Health Care

Prior to joining the faculty at Illinois Wesleyan University in 2002, Dr. Folse taught at Bradley University for three years and provided 15 years of full-time eating disorder treatment with 10 years of nursing management practice at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, where she continued to work part-time with clients and families and provide clinical supervision to clinicians in the Eating Disorders, Behavioral Health, and Psychiatric Emergency Care Programs. Dr. Folse is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric Nursing and is an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority in the state of Illinois. She is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Dr. Folse has an extensive publication record, an ongoing program of research, and lectures nationally and internationally. She assumed the role of Director of the School of Nursing in 2009

Nursing

Quanna Batiste is the CNO of Ambulatory Care at UCLA Health where she oversees nurses at more than 180 ambulatory clinics across three counties, many of which also participate in the UCLA Health Accountable Care Organizations. Her nursing expertise and clinical specialty in ambulatory care inspires her to contribute and present in multiple local and international conferences on various key subjects including simulation and competency training, and education and improving the efficiency of throughput. Dr. Batiste has been a nurse for 18 years and most recently completed her doctoral studies and was awarded a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Capella University.

Nursing

Darryl, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), joins the college following recently earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Darryl has worked as a Nurse Anesthetist since 1998 in Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington State. Darryl will lead the college’s DNP program, which prepares nurse practitioners and population health nurses. The program is offered through the college at three sites- Spokane, Vancouver, and most recently, Tri-Cities, Washington.

He creates new indication of Allopurinol for stomatitis induced by cancer treatment which was approved by the Japanese Cancer treatment committee to propose new mechanism of Allopurinol for anti-oxidant. And now, there are so many new research papers of Allopurinol in the world.
